Surly MacConnelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
MacConnelly lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though. #CUT2#

and Maxwell counters with a nice low kick that buckles Cummings's knee momentarily.
Cummings fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Maxwell is out of range.

Maxwell jumps guard and drags Cummings to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Bly cracks Maxwell with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

and Maxwell counters with a straight right hand.
Bly lands a two punch combo.
A jab lands there for Bly.
A head kick misses from Bly.
An attempted straight right counter from Maxwell misses the target.
Bly looks to throw the jab but Maxwell is out of range.
A quick step to the side and Maxwell tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bly throws a head kick but Maxwell moves out of range.
Maxwell half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Maxwell tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bly swivels and escapes.

This has been an exciting period of action!

After the fight, Mario Bly was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
