Work with a lazy takedown attempt
and Valen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Work goes for a double leg but Valen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Valen continues to drive forward.
Work looks winded!
Work darts in trying to clinch
and Valen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.#CUT#
It looks like Aaron Work has been cut.
Work moves out of range as Valen strikes.
Work is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Valen with a body shot.
Work tries to close the distance and clinch up but Valen swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sloppy strikes from Valen. Those never looked like landing.
Work lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Work shoots in but doesn't get the takedown #TD2#
and Crisp counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Crisp.
Crisp is stalling in the full guard.
Crisp in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Crisp pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Work is keeping the position for now. #SUB#
Crisp got a little sloppy there for a moment and Work has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Crisp has managed to get both his arms back between Work's legs - danger averted.
Crisp slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crisp remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Work really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
