#R1# Romero rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kerevi counters with a nice uppercut. Romero moves away from the strike by Kerevi. Romero displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kerevi throws out the jab. Romero half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Kerevi lands a head shot. Romero takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kerevi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

#TD# and Romero decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kerevi's guard. Romero looking to pass the guard. Romero throwing strikes from guard but Kerevi blocks nicely. Romero stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kerevi swivels though and keeps the full guard. #T1# Romero is working hard here to advance position. Kerevi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Romero. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Romero throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Romero is looking to work some ground and pound but Kerevi has wrist control. Kerevi can't keep his opponent in guard - Romero advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Romero not landing any meaningful shots this time. Kerevi wants to get back to his feet.#SUB# Romero seems to be working for a kimura but Kerevi defends the submission attempt. Kerevi felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Romero passes to full mount! #T2# Kerevi wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Romero.

Kerevi is bucking up trying to escape but Romero cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Romero thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
