#R1# Dentremont takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
#TD2# Dentremont feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Dentremont wants to pass the guard but Franzen is keeping the position. Dentremont throws a big elbow that misses. Dentremont cracks Franzen with a solid left hand. Dentremont tries to free his leg and advance position but Franzen is retaining full guard. Franzen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Dentremont engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Dentremont really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Franzen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Franzen is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dentremont is aware though and is defending well. Dentremont stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Franzen swivels though and keeps the full guard. #SUB# Franzen is looking for a triangle but Dentremont pushes his legs off easily.
#T1# Dentremont sitting in guard here, content to control. Dentremont tries to free his leg and advance position but Franzen is retaining full guard. Dentremont is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. It looks like Dentremont might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.#T2# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Dentremont looking to pass the guard. Dentremont is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.#SUB# Dentremont got a little sloppy there for a moment and Franzen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dentremont has managed to get both his arms back between Franzen's legs - danger averted. Dentremont not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.#T3##CL2# Dentremont closes the distance and clinches. Dentremont wants a takedown.
#TD2# Dentremont works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Dentremont controlling from the top position. Dentremont is pushing down on Franzen's leg trying to pass to half guard. Franzen is fighting to maintain full guard but Dentremont has managed to sneak the leg through. Dentremont tries to pass the half guard into mount. Franzen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Dentremont sitting and controlling from the half guard. Dentremont's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.#T4# Dentremont not landing any meaningful shots this time. Dentremont is pressing down on Franzen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Franzen is holding on for now. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dentremont is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Dentremont working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jonny Dentremont dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# Franzen throws a leg kick that is checked#TD2# and Dentremont counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Dentremont has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Dentremont content to control rather than advance. Let's hope that Dentremont has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Franzen wants to get back to full guard. Dentremont wants to free his trapped foot but Franzen is holding on for dear life with his legs. #T1# The referee calls for the fighters to work.
#REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Franzen stuffs the takedown. No joy there for Franzen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dentremont uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Franzen. Franzen throws a head kick that misses. #TD2# Dentremont dives in and scores a takedown into Franzen's guard. Dentremont controlling from the top position. #T2##SUB# Franzen is looking to cinch up a triangle. Dentremont throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Franzen's body to avoid the submission. Franzen has instead reached around Dentremont's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Franzen arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
