#R1# Matthew throws a leg kick which misses Silva's front leg but catches the back leg as Silva tries to avoid it. Silva tries to clinch there but Matthew circles away.
Matthew connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Matthew lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Silva has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Silva and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Silva appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Matthew circles away from the clinch attempt.
Matthew buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Fred Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice takedown defense from Matthew. No joy for Silva on that attempt. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Gill is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Silva content to stall in guard here. #SUB# Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Silva scoring with punches to the head and body. Silva working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gill's head. Silva will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Gill throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

White bucks up and tries to throw Silva off but instead Silva has got his back! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. What can White do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
