Koch manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Ricoop connects with a couple of short punches. Koch wants to stand up but Ricoop is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Koch has a closed guard, preventing Ricoop from standing up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ricoop accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koch wants to stand up but Ricoop is controlling him. Koch keeping moving, preventing Ricoop from controlling successfully. #T1# Ricoop won't allow Koch to sweep him here. Nice work!#TD2# Brenden drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.#ES# Koch throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!#TD2# Brenden closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Koch quickly recovers to half guard. Brenden is taking a breather. Koch says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Koch might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Brenden wants to stand but Koch has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. #T1# Koch is refusing to be controlled, as Brenden sits in half guard. Brenden is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Koch is trying to stand.

That was a close round but I would say that Rashad Koch will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koch trying to remain calm as Franks controls from the top position.#T1# Koch tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Franks wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. #SUB2# Franks swings around for an armbar but Koch sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Franks's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koch is looking to work some ground and pound but Sveizy has wrist control.
