Elukka dives in and scores a takedown into Sparbot's guard.

Elukka distracts Sparbot with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Sparbot controls Elukka momentarily but Elukka frees himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Elukka arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Sparbot's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Sparbot throws out a loose jab but Nawai uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sparbot should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Nawai takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Nawai thuds a left hand into Sparbot's body.
Nawai shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sparbot as he jumps to the side.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sparbot! But no joy.
Sparbot ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nawai moves away.
Nawai appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Sparbot stuffs the takedown.
Nawai fails with the takedown
and Sparbot counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Apolosi Nawai. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nawai drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nawai jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. #SUB#
Nawai drops back looking for a leg! Sparbot is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sparbot manages to kick Nawai off! Nawai jumps back into Sparbot's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T2#
Nawai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sparbot swivels though and keeps the full guard.

He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Nawai looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Sparbot can't hide his disappointment, as Nawai celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Apolosi Nawai!
A very excited looking Apolosi Nawai made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
