Brown feinted with a counter takedown. Whittman lands with a kick to the temple. Brown shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Brown tries for a takedown but Whittman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Whittman throws a head kick but Brown moves out of range.

Whittman thuds his shin into the meat of Brown 's side. Duane Whittman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brown shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. #R1# Mack takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Whittman has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. No luck for Mack with that takedown attempt. Whittman lands a jab to Mack's midsection. Whittman throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mack. Whittman fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mack on the side of the head. Mack looks for a takedown but Whittman sprawls well.#TD# Whittman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mack wants to pass the guard but Whittman is keeping the position.#SUB2# Whittman is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mack rolls with it to try and escape but Whittman cranks on the arm and Mack is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

and McNeal counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Whittman looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Whittman scores with a head kick. McNeal tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Whittman throws a head kick but McNeal moves out of range.
#KD2# McNeal cracks Whittman with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. McNeal has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Whittman to stand back up!#ROC2# Whittman is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Whittman throws a head kick that half lands.
Oh Whittman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Whittman misses with a takedown and McNeal rattles Whittman with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Whittman tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. McNeal dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Whittman stiff and motionless on the mat!

#R1# Whittman throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Hanying throws a right hand that Whittman ducks under and follows up with a left that Whittman also avoids with ease. Whittman throws a head kick but Hanying moves out of range.

A little feinted left hand from Hanying on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.#CL# Hanying instigates a clinch. Hanying lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Hanying lands with a short head shot on the inside. Hanying scores with a shoulder strike. Whittman is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the ropes enables Hanying to keep the fight standing.#TD2# Whittman gets control of Hanying's arms and successfully pulls guard. We've been hearing good reports from Matba's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Whittman is in close to Matba's body, working some short punches and elbows. Whittman distracts Matba with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Whittman working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Whittman lands a couple of decent looking shots. Whittman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Whittman passes easily into side control. Nice work. Matba is not in a great position here, taking some shots. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Whittman trying to control the action but Matba is working from the bottom. #CUT# It looks like Duane Whittman has been cut. Whittman throws a sloppy head kick and Trecozze moves out of range easily. Trecozze was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.#CL2# Trecozze gets tackled into the ropes by Whittman. Whittman maintains the clinch. Whittman fails with the takedown.#CL# Whittman clinches up with Maita and pushes him back against the cage. Maita wants to break the clinch but can't.

A frustrated look appears on Maita's face as he tries to break the clinch. Whittman tries to pull guard but Maita holds him up against the cage and eventually Whittman drops back down to his feet.
