#R1##TD2# Tarkovsky throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Chandler tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tarkovsky is in Chandler's guard. Tarkovsky trying to control but Chandler is working from the bottom. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Tarkovsky working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Chandler pulls Tarkovsky in close to prevent any damage. Tarkovsky throws a big right hand that misses. #SUB# Chandler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tarkovsky doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Chandler is tightening it up a little... Tarkovsky has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Tarkovsky reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Tarkovsky taps out! Nice BJJ there by Chandler!

#R1# De Moncey's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Tarkovsky connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! De Moncey scrambles back to his feet. Tarkovsky ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Nice body punch from Tarkovsky. A decent looking cross lands there for Tarkovsky. De Moncey keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
De Moncey takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. A slow jab from Tarkovsky misses its intended target. Tarkovsky tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but De Moncey was well out of range. Poor timing from Tarkovsky. A jab from Tarkovsky misses. Tarkovsky throws a low kick but De Moncey moves out of range easily. De Moncey half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD# De Moncey scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Tarkovsky has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Russian Bears Training Center. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tarkovsky can do anything to dispel that myth. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! #R1# Tarkovsky on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Gable fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. A good leg kick by Gable. Tarkovsky showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gable.
Left hook, right uppercut from Tarkovsky. Tarkovsky displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gable throws out the jab. Gable throws the left hand but Tarkovsky avoids the punch easily. Sloppy strikes from Tarkovsky. Those never looked like landing. Gable swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Tarkovsky misses with a few strikes there.
Gable feints and then cracks Tarkovsky's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Tarkovsky down. Gable swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Tarkovsky throws a big counter combination but Gable scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gable fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tarkovsky. Tarkovsky slips under a jab from Gable. Tarkovsky tries for a takedown but Gable sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Gable fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Gable lands a nice shot to the body.
Tarkovsky fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Dan Gable is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.#T1# Gable misses the jab. Tarkovsky throws a quick counter head kick but Gable was just out of range. Gable keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Thomas Tarkovsky. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gable misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Gable bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Tarkovsky's head. Gable throws a looping overhand right but Tarkovsky ducks down to avoid it. Gable lands with a nice body punch. Gable throws a jab but it's blocked by Tarkovsky. Gable keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Gable uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tarkovsky.

Tarkovsky takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Tarkovsky displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gable throws out the jab. Gable fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Gable lunges at Tarkovsky with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tarkovsky's hand. #T3# Gable fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.#ROC2# Tarkovsky is rocked! Tarkovsky walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Gable! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!

#R1# Tarkovsky throws a combination that misses and Castaneda counters with a big head kick but Tarkovsky shrugs it off. A punch combination from Tarkovsky misses. #TD2# Tarkovsky decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Castaneda is trying to escape back to his feet but Tarkovsky uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tarkovsky working away. Castaneda pushes Tarkovsky away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Tarkovsky gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.#SU2# Tarkovsky stands up and we're back to a striking position. #CL2# Tarkovsky drives through and clinches with Castaneda against the cage.
#BC# Castaneda manages to break the clinch.
Castaneda moves out of range of the body kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Castaneda shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tarkovsky pinned against the cage. Tarkovsky gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. #T1# Tarkovsky misses with a few strikes there.
Castaneda fails in his attempt to clinch. Tarkovsky lands a two punch combo.
#ROC2# Castaneda is rocked!#CUT2# It looks like Cameron Castaneda has been cut. Tarkovsky digs a good hook to Castaneda's body.
Oh Castaneda is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Castaneda is breathing heavily.#TD2# Tarkovsky dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Castaneda has had enough and taps out.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Paul Thomas Tarkovsky! After winning the bout, Paul Thomas Tarkovsky thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Russo moves in looking to clinch but Tarkovsky pushes him off. Russo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tarkovsky paws at him with a jab and circles away. Tarkovsky misses with a double jab
#TD# and Russo counters with a takedown into side control. Tarkovsky wants to control but Russo postures up. Tarkovsky taking punishment in the form of punches.
Tarkovsky is trying to improve his position. Russo lands a nice forearm strike. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tarkovsky can do anything to dispel that myth. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. You can see the frustration on Tarkovsky's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Tarkovsky tries to escape but Russo is in control. #T1# Tarkovsky sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Russo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Tarkovsky looks like he's trying to stand up.
Russo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Tarkovsky is looking to control Russo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tarkovsky avoid being mounted? Tarkovsky is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Russo scores with a couple of nice shots. Tarkovsky wants to get back to his feet.#ES2# Tarkovsky has one foot on Russo's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Tarkovsky getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Russo needs to keep his hands up - Tarkovsky had a free shot at his head there. Tarkovsky swings for the body but Russo moves out of range.

Russo wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Paul Thomas Tarkovsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tarkovsky fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Russo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Russo tries to clinch up and Tarkovsky counters with a lovely straight right hand! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Russo slips a jab and a cross from Tarkovsky.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul Thomas Tarkovsky! A very excited looking Paul Thomas Tarkovsky rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
