#R1# Cali has his takedown stuffed letting Lister counter with a right hand. Cali darts in looking for a takedown but Lister gets double underhooks and turns Cali into the cage. Cali doesn't succeed with the takedown and Lister counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cali thinking. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Cali. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cali with a lazy takedown attempt letting Lister counter with a right hand. Marcus Cali seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cali misses with a takedown attempt and Lister makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Cali tries for a takedown but Lister circles away easily and Lister counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Lister's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Lister duly obliges. Cali has his takedown stuffed and Lister counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Cali is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cali with a lazy takedown attempt and Lister counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cali thinking. #TD# Lister shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Miranda napping and manages to drive through into side control! Miranda is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Lister creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Lister is chipping away with strikes.
Miranda really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lister. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lister working the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lister in side control, just content to control the action for now. Lister looks up at the clock and then as Miranda takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lister smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
