Vess shoots in but no luck this time. Sloan throws a combination that misses #CL2# and Vess counters by clinching up. #TD2# Vess gets control of Sloan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Vess will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Sloan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Vess trying to keep a closed guard but Sloan is proving a slippery customer.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sloan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top.
