Slab seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pulev for as long as he can get away with. Pulev trying to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slab's corner is telling him to maintain position. Pulev controls Slab momentarily but Slab frees himself. Slab chips away with some ground and pound.#T1##SUB2# Pulev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pulev tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Slab is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Slab could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Slab scoring with some ground and pound. #R1##CL2# Pulev clinches. Dillard has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.#TD2# Pulev has hold of one of Dillard's legs. Dillard is fighting the takedown attempt but Pulev gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.#ES# Dillard has his feet on Pulev's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. #CL2# Pulev rushes Dillard and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Both guys are working to get underhooks. #BC2# Pulev breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
#TD2# Pulev shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pulev showed some decent athleticism there. #ES# Dillard has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Pulev is on him like a limpet, forcing Dillard back against the cage.#T1##TD# Dillard gets a trip takedown into half guard.
