and Dungey counters with a body kick that stops Emperor in his tracks momentarily. Emperor dips down and scores with a jab to the body. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Emperor has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Emperor throws a shot from downtown. Dungey moves away and avoids it. A little feinted left hand from Dungey on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Emperor waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dungey. Dungey swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Emperor throws a push kick but Dungey slaps the foot to one side. Dungey misses with a two punch combination.

Fedor Emperor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Emperor tries to bum rush Dungey with a series of wild strikes but Dungey uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Emperor wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Dungey with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Dungey looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Emperor jabbing away but nothing is landing. A little feinted left hand from Dungey on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Emperor cracks Dungey with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Dungey slips a straight right by Emperor. Emperor misses with a left hand #CL# and Dungey counters by moving into the clinch. #T2# Emperor tries to land knees in the clinch but Dungey avoids the damage to the body. Dungey misses with a hook from the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dungey can't find room to land a body shot as Emperor controls the action.

Emperor might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Emperor misses with a few strikes there.

Emperor connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dungey's hands. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Eric Dungey will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.#R2# Dungey keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

#R1##TD2# Dungey bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Naulakko tries to bench press Dungey off him but Dungey keeps the position. Dungey working away. Naulakko is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Dungey is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Dungey wants to stand but Naulakko has his arm trapped. Naulakko is positioning himself to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Naulakko wants to get back to his feet. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Naulakko might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.#T1# Naulakko is trying to control Dungey's posture but Dungey avoids it. #REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Naulakko misses with a straight right. A looping hook to the body misses from Naulakko. Dungey does a little dance to reset his feet. A nice side step and Dungey releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Naulakko misses with an uppercut

#TD2# Dungey is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Naulakko's half guard. Naulakko is trying to maintain the position but Dungey is very close to passing his half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.#T2# Dungey tries to stand and escape but Naulakko is controlling the position. #ES# Naulakko pushes Dungey off and gets back to his feet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dungey keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Dungey appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Tiramanti lands a leg kick that knocks Dungey off balance momentarily. Tiramanti tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dungey was well out of range. Poor timing from Tiramanti. A little feinted left hand from Dungey on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.#TD2# Tiramanti looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Tiramanti slows the pace down in half guard. #SUB2# Tiramanti is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dungey sees it coming and defends easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dungey looks to throw the jab but Smith is out of range.
