#R1# The fighters circle momentarily. Gomes darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Gomes cracks Barker with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Gomes throws a leg kick #TD# and Barker counters with a shoot takedown. Gomes fights it but they end up in guard. Barker could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Gomes is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Barker dives into side control.
Gomes tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Barker connects with a big shot to the side of Gomes's head.
#SUB# Barker has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Gomes is defending well but eventually Barker manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Gomes has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

#R1# Goncalves lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A jab lands there for Goncalves. Barker tries to move into range but Goncalves moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Goncalves swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Barker feinted with a counter takedown. Goncalves lands with an overhand left. Goncalves works Barker's body with a nice hook. Felipe Goncalves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barker walks into a left hand. Nice shot by Goncalves. Goncalves is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Barker on the wrong end of a nice jab. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Barker moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Goncalves has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.#T1# Barker takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Jab from Goncalves. Barker drops his hands momentarily and Goncalves takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Goncalves lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Goncalves throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Barker on the side of the head. Barker tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Goncalves manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Barker tries to clinch but fails miserably and Goncalves counters with a right hand to the body. Goncalves uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Barker has time to react.#T2# Goncalves misses with a body shot.
Barker is looking to counter the offense by Goncalves and move into the clinch. Goncalves lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Goncalves scores with a sloppy right hand. Barker should have avoided that one. Nice shot by Goncalves. Goncalves uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Goncalves lands with an uppercut that bounces Barker off the cage and back into range. A punch lands to the side of Barker 's head but he takes it in his stride.#T3# Goncalves lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Goncalves might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Barker moves to clinch but Goncalves breaks away and Goncalves connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Barker is looking to clinch but Goncalves is avoiding it.

#R1##CL# Barker gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kestenis trying to stall but Barker improves his position.
Barker jumps guard but Kestenis turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. #TD2# Kestenis jumps into guard, dragging Barker to the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Barker throws a big right hand that misses. Kestenis trying to strike off his back.
Kestenis has momentary wrist control but Barker slips an elbow through the middle. Barker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Barker postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Barker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kestenis working a defensive guard but Barker passes into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barker sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kestenis defending well though. Kestenis tries to roll over but Barker keeps him under control. Kestenis wants to control but Barker is keeping busy and won't allow it. #T1# Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Barker in particular looking to stall. Barker lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Nice strikes from Barker there. Kestenis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Barker controlling the pace. Kestenis on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. #SUB# Barker seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. #R1##TD2# Mousasi darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.#ES# Barker kicks Mousasi off and gets back to his feet.#TD2# Mousasi shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Barker makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Barker. Barker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Barker manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mousasi manages to get himself to full guard.

Mousasi looks winded!#T3# The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mousasi takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Mousasi is working to avoid the ground and pound but Barker connects with a decent elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barker cracks Mousasi with a big elbow. Barker working the ground and pound from side control.#SUB# Barker working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Barker working the head with strikes. #T4# Mousasi is trying to control Barker's posture but Barker avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barker controlling the position. Barker is working Mousasi over with some ground and pound from side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Barker in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Mousasi is not in a great position here, taking some shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Barker wants to hit a switch here but Mousasi passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Barker there! Barker is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mousasi can do to turn this around? Barker throwing hammer fists to the chest of Mousasi. What's that going to do exactly? Mousasi wants to control the action but instead Barker gets a body lock and reverses into Mousasi's guard! Nice work! Barker won't allow Mousasi to get back to his feet.
