#R1# Zigrand tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Larsen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Larsen looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Larsen slaps away a takedown attempt from Zigrand, before circling back to the center of the mat. Zigrand shoots in and drives through. Larsen sprawls well. Zigrand stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zigrand wants it to stay on the feet. Zigrand feints the counter takedown. Zigrand shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Larsen pinned against the cage. Larsen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Larsen seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Lars Larsen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Zigrand. Zigrand fails with the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Larsen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Zigrand as he avoids it easily. Zigrand tries to close the distance and clinch up but Larsen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Zigrand is looking to take this fight into the clinch.#T1# Zigrand dives in and grabs Larsen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Larsen pushes down on Zigrand's head and hops out. Zigrand throws a wild body kick that Larsen sees coming a mile off. Zigrand closes this distance looking for a takedown but Larsen circles away. Zigrand shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Larsen as he jumps to the side. Nice takedown defense from Zigrand. No joy for Larsen on that attempt. Zigrand fails with the takedown. Zigrand misses with a wild combination.
Larsen seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. A head kick misses from Zigrand. Zigrand throws a right and a left that both miss. Larsen attempts a counter takedown but Zigrand avoids it well and moves away.#T2# Larsen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Zigrand looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Larsen is fending him off so far but Zigrand persists. Nope, Larsen circles away and we're back to standing. Zigrand does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Larsen half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Zigrand closes this distance looking for a takedown but Larsen circles away.#TD# Larsen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.#ES2# Zigrand wriggles free and stands up. This has been an exciting period of action! Larsen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zigrand's waist but Zigrand gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Larsen off to one side. Zigrand works over Larsen's head and body with a nice combination. Zigrand wants to clinch up but Larsen keeps it at a distance. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Larsen is defended easily by Zigrand.#T3# Zigrand just misses with a punch to the body.
Larsen stuffs the takedown attempt from Zigrand. Zigrand gets slowly back to his feet. Zigrand tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Larsen defends well and Zigrand ends up having to push Larsen into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Larsen misses with a low kick.
Zigrand changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Larsen tries to avoid it but Zigrand manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Larsen to the ground. Larsen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. #TD# Zigrand gets caught napping as Larsen dives in and scores a takedown. Zigrand manages to retain guard.#ES2# Zigrand is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Larsen presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. #T4# Larsen tries to pull guard but Zigrand won't allow it.

#R1##TD# Mathis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Larsen looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Mathis is nestled in close to Larsen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.#SU# Mathis stands up from half guard. Mathis gets in close and tags Larsen with a short punch that almost sends Larsen to the mat! Oh Larsen is in big trouble! He turns his back on Mathis, trying to create some distance but Mathis rushes him, striking wildly and Larsen goes down! The referee tackles Mathis into the cage to end the fight! Mathis is one violent man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Petiah Mathis! Petiah Mathis very nearly forgot to thank Dr. Dogood (160 quality for $135) amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.

Larsen is keen to just control but Mcfadden is a slippery customer. Larsen looks winded! Mcfadden makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mcfadden. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Larsen prevents Mcfadden from getting back to his feet.
