Billy Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Solomon shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Solomon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Brown. Solomon tries a head kick but it misses.

#R1# Lowery is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Solomon. Alex Lowery seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lowery misses with a straight right. Lowery fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Solomon moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Solomon has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lowery is landing a low percentage of strikes. A looping hook to the body misses from Lowery. Solomon does a little dance to reset his feet. Lowery throws a hook but Solomon avoids it easily. Lowery throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Solomon's waist but Solomon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lowery off to one side. Lowery shoots in looking for a takedown but Solomon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lowery's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Lowery. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
