Donovan connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hopkins's hands. Hopkins scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Donovan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hopkins connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Donovan uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hopkins. Donovan takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hopkins slips under a jab. Hopkins throwing a counter right hand but Donovan manages to avoid it. Donovan throws a right hand that Hopkins ducks under and follows up with a left that Hopkins also avoids with ease. Hopkins moves away from the strike by Donovan. Hopkins dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Donovan postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
#SUB# Donovan tries for a kimura but Kwadwo is defending well. Kwadwo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Donovan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#SUB# Donovan is working to tighten his grip on Kwadwo's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Kwadwo has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Donovan is really squeezing tight and eventually Kwadwo passes out! Donovan breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

and Donovan counters with a lovely shot to the body. Donovan gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Harris. Harris has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Donovan cracks Harris with an open hand slap. Donovan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Harris manages to avoid it. Donovan scores with a decent looking hook. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Donovan scores with a hook to the body. Harris takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Harris swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Donovan lands a glancing blow to the side of Harris's head. Harris comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Donovan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Harris misses with a shot to the body and Donovan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Harris fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Donovan checks it well. A decent looking cross lands there for Donovan. We've been told by Harris's head coaches at The Coffee Shop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Harris works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Donovan has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.#T1# Harris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Donovan circles away quickly and effectively. Harris throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Donovan has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Donovan cracks Trigger with a good jab. Donovan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
