#R1##CL2# Sith gets in close and instigates a clinch. #BC# Mongus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.#CL2# Sith clinches up with Mongus and pushes him back against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.#TD# Mongus gets control of Sith's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mongus will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Mongus is adopting a defensive guard. Sith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mongus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mongus is on top in guard.
#REVR# Mongus lands a couple of decent looking shots. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sith looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Mongus puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mongus in particular looking to stall. Mongus lands with a punch from half guard. #T1# Mongus takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Mongus content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Sith wants to control but Mongus passes into side.
Mongus is chipping away with strikes.
Sith is trying to get back to half guard. Sith being controlled for a moment. #T2# Mongus cracks Sith with a big right hand but Sith just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Mongus is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sith's shoulder. That is not cool. We've been hearing that Mongus has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mongus has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.#T3# A control attempt from Sith but he's now mounted! Mongus controlling his opponent. #T4# The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Sith takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Mongus in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Mongus controlling his opponent. Mongus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mongus lands a nice shot to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hugh Mongus dominated that round. The cut man is working on Hugh Mongus's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. #R2##CL2# Sith closes the distance and pushes Mongus back into the cage.#TD# Mongus manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Mongus is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mongus bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sith's guard. #REVR# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sith wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Mongus is now in half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mongus in particular looking to stall. Sith makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sith.#T1# Mongus with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Mongus slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Mongus working some strikes from top position. Mongus sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sith's guard. Mongus working Sith over with strikes. Hugh Mongus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mongus sitting and controlling from the half guard. #T2# Mongus slips a nice elbow through Sith's hands, connecting with Sith's forehead. Well, if Mongus is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mongus is nestled in close to Sith, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Mongus trying to control the pace. Mongus working Sith over with strikes. #T3# Sith wants to get back to full guard. Mongus lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Sith on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Mongus is controlling the pace.
Mongus is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. #T4# My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sith wants to control but Mongus is keeping busy.
#SUB# Mongus maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Sith could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Mongus has cracked it and Sith is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Mongus!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hugh Mongus! Hugh Mongus was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
