Stevenson throws a looping overhand right but Owens ducks down to avoid it. Owens fails to land the takedown.#CL2# Stevenson has taken the fight to the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stevenson tries to roll over but Owens keeps him under control. #R1# Owens fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Borga manages to avoid it. Borga gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily #CL# and Owens counters by moving into the clinch. Borga misses with a knee strike.
Owens jumps guard but Borga turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Owens is pressed up against the cage. Borga has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Owens down to the mat. Owens avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Borga fails with a takedown attempt. Owens seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Irwin Owens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ludwig Borga. Borga keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Borga darts in looking for a takedown but Owens gets double underhooks and turns Borga into the cage. #R1# Vails tries to land a front kick but Owens steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Owens dives in and grabs Vails's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vails pushes down on Owens's head and hops out. Owens pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Owens shoots in but Vails avoids the takedown attempt easily. Owens really is a fat lump.#TD2# Vails fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Owens sprawls well initially but Vails persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Owens scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Vails manages to mount him!
#SUB2# Vails wants to finish this one by submission but Owens is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Vails. Vails controlling from the full mount. Owens is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.#T1# Owens is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Owens wants to control but Vails is having none of it. Vails controlling from the full mount. Owens is squirming around, avoiding Vails's attempts to control the action. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Vails cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
#CUT2# It looks like Irwin Owens has been cut. Owens is in a horrible position here. Vails smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Vails lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Owens! Vails sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Owens and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

#R1##CL2# McGregor rushes Owens and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Owens fails to pull guard.
Owens drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McGregor gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Owens tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Irwin Owens. That's going to take a lot out of him. Owens is looking to take this one to the mat. Owens jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McGregor walks away with a smile on his face. Owens gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. McGregor moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.#CUT2# It looks like Irwin Owens has been cut. Owens really is a fat lump. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by McGregor!
A shot to the liver by McGregor. Beautiful body shot. McGregor shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Owens eats them both and turns towards McGregor to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#CL# Owens gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. McGregor is trying to force a seperation but Owens has the dominant position. Owens is working for takedown but McGregor is calmly controlling the position for now. Owens jumps guard but McGregor turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. McGregor is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Owens tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McGregor smiles and moves away.

Owens tries to avoid it but McGregor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Owens to the ground. Owens escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. McGregor keeps the fight on the outside. McGregor lands with a big left! Owens is wobbled badly! McGregor comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Owens to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Buddy McGregor! Buddy McGregor decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.

Owens could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.#TD# Owens has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Cormier clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Cormier is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Cormier trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. A bit of a pause in the action here. Owens controlling the positon. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. You can see the frustration on Cormier's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

#ES2# Rock has his feet on Owens's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Owens could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Owens is defended easily by Rock. Owens shoots in but Rock avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rock lands another huge swinging hook and Owens tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Owens, before Rock can land any more shots!

#R1# Owens tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nowak sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Owens somewhat. Nowak misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
#TD2# Nowak bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Nowak is putting a hurting on Owens here, landing some big shots from side control. Nowak is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Nowak happy to just control the position for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Owens is trying to buck Nowak off.#T1##SU2# Nowak decides to stand back up. Nowak steps back and let's Owens get back to his feet.#CL2# Nowak moves into the clinch. Nowak blocks an uppercut.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nowak thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. #SUB2# Owens has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Nowak to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Owens is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Nowak pulls down on the head and he's put Owens to sleep! This one is all over!
