Whitaker wants the takedown. Fresh is fighting it off but Whitaker persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Fresh's guard against the cage.#SUB#
Fresh working for a triangle but Whitaker defends it easily.
Whitaker pushes down on Fresh's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Whitaker uses his free foot to push down on Fresh's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Fresh.

Fresh is trying desperately to improve position.

The referee warns Fresh that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Fresh could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Whitaker takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fresh is bucking up trying to escape but Whitaker cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
