#R1# Andermatt fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nice takedown defense from Andermatt. No joy for Nelson on that attempt. A jab from Andermatt misses. Nelson tries to counter with a clinch but Andermatt shakes him off and moves away. Nelson fails with the takedown. It looked like Andermatt was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Nelson. Nelson tries to clinch but Andermatt is having none of it. Andermatt looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Andermatt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Andermatt just misses with a punch to the body.
Nelson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Andermatt swats him away and circles back towards the center. Andermatt was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.#CL2# Nelson rushes Andermatt and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Andermatt lands a right hand. #BC2# Nelson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nelson fails with the takedown. Roger Andermatt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gregg Nelson. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nelson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Andermatt throws out the jab. Andermatt will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nelson wants to counter the offense by Andermatt and move into the clinch position. We've been informed that Nelson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Andermatt jabbing away but nothing is landing. #T1# Nelson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Andermatt manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.#CL2# Nelson has managed to clinch.

Nelson tries to clinch up and Andermatt counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.#T2# Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nelson misses with a low kick. Nelson tries for a takedown but Andermatt sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nelson attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Andermatt scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Andermatt avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
#KD# Andermatt cracks Nelson with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Nelson looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Andermatt finish him?
#ROC# Nelson is rocked! Andermatt cracks Nelson with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Nelson tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Andermatt pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Nelson is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roger Andermatt!

#R1# Nelson feints with a jab and clips Holloway right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Holloway is sent crashing into the canvas and Nelson leaps in for the kill! Holloway tries to get to his feet but Nelson is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Holloway is in need of a savior and steps in!
