#R1# Nada throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Nada dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Nada jabs Muru right on the nose. Muru blinks but takes it well. Nada sizes up Muru with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. #CUT2# It looks like Hanjiang Muru has been cut. Muru tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Frank Nada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nada feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Murus jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Nada fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Muru looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Muru is breathing heavily. Muru is looking to clinch but Nada is avoiding it.
#KD2# Nada cracks Muru with an uppercut from hell and Muru crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Nada's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
#ROC2# Muru is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Nada gets to his feet and stands over Muru, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Muru felt that one! Nada unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Muru from any more punishment!

#R1# Grena moves in looking to clinch but Muru pushes him off. Muru looks to throw a body kick and Grena counters with a straight punch to the midsection.#TD2# Grena fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Muru to the ground. Grena is now in Muru's guard.#SUB# Muru has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Grena can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Grena stops Muru from standing up. Grena stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Muru swivels though and keeps the full guard. Grena trying to control but Muru is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Muru trying to keep a closed guard but Grena is proving a slippery customer.
Grena throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. #T1# Muru looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Grena postures up in Muru's guard and throws a big left but Muru blocks it. Grena stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Muru swivels though and keeps the full guard. Grena keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Muru's head. Grena connects with a couple of short punches. Grena stops Muru from standing up. Muru can't keep his opponent in guard - Grena advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Grena trying to mount his opponent but Muru defends it. Grena has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.#SUB# Muru looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.#T2# Grena landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Grena looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Muru is doing well to control the position and prevent Grena from advancing to side control. Muru is looking to improve his position.
Grena winds up and cracks Muru with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Grena landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Muru wants to get back to full guard.#T3# Grena takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Muru tries to roll over but Grena keeps him under control. Grena throwing shots but Muru is blocking nicely. #SUB2# Grena wants to work for an arm triangle but Muru is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Muru tries to get to full guard but Grena has control of the leg. Muru is trying to stand.
Grena passes the guard and advances to mount! Grena breaks from Muru's wrist control and lands an elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T4# Muru is trying to escape the mount.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Grena working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Grena lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
#SUB2# Muru tries to improve his position but Grena has taken his back! Grena has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Muru tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Grena pushes Muru away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Umberto Grena! Umberto Grena was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
