#R1# Grepal lands a jab to Mahmoud's midsection. A right-left combo lands from Grepal. #TD2# Mahmoud throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Grepal tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mahmoud is in Grepal's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mahmoud's corner is telling him to maintain position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mahmoud's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.#T1# The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.#REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.#T2# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Grepal throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Mahmoud swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Grepal throws a one two combo.
Grepal swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
#TD2# and Mahmoud counters with a single leg into guard. Grepal didn't expect that. Mahmoud passes easily into side control. Nice work. Mahmoud just content to control the position. Grepal is breathing heavily. It looks like Mahmoud might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.#T3# Let's hope that Mahmoud has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.#SUB2# Mahmoud has hold of Grepal's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Grepal seems comfortable defending it but Mahmoud has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Grepal is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Grepal is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Mahmoud couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Horus Mahmoud!
