Gray is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Gray defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Welton. As Welton tries to get set, Gray tries to push him back and clinch up but Welton manages to avoid the attempt. Welton throws a head kick that misses #TD# and Gray counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gray prevents Welton from standing back up.
Welton is trying to maintain the position but Gray is very close to passing his half guard.#SUB# Gray is looking for a kimura but Welton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gray to get the leverage. #SUB# Gray is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Welton sees it coming and defends easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Gray in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura...
