Starr manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Starr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nurmy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nurmy is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Nurmy works a leg free and moves into half guard. Starr is looking to improve his position.
Nurmy works his foot free and advances to mount. #SUB# Nurmy has control of Starr's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Starr regains control of the situation pretty easily.

#R1# Starr throws a nice looking combination but March bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. March lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Starr circles away quickly and effectively. A slapping leg kick lands for March.
Starr fails to land with a series of punches.
Starr throws a left and a right that both miss
and March counters with a one-two to the body. March dodges the punch combination from Starr.
A nice side step and March releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Starr throws a combination. March tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Starr with a nice cross. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!#CL2# March clinches with his opponent.

Starr goes for a takedown attempt but March pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
#TD2# March closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Starr wants to control but March is keeping busy and won't allow it. Starr looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Starr takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. You can see the frustration on Starr's face as March controls the position. Starr is looking to regain half guard here but March keeps moving and retains side control. #SU2# March decides to stand up, so the ref orders Starr to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A combination from Starr does no damage. Starr throws a right and a left that March avoids nicely. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Starr lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. #TD2# Schroder closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Schroder lands in his opponent's guard. Schroder not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Starr can't keep his opponent in guard - Schroder advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Starr looks like he's trying to stand up.
Well, if Schroder is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
#T1# Starr wants to get back to full guard but Schroder has passed into side control. Starr is looking to reverse the position.#SUB2# Schroder is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Starr has escaped the position, nice work there. The strikes coming from Schroder are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Starr tries to improve position but can't. Sanchez tries to pass to full mount but Starr defends it. Starr tries to get to full guard but Sanchez has control of the leg. #T1# Sanchez wants to control but Starr is keeping him busy. #SU# Sanchez decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Jab, jab by Starr - just one landing. Starr fails to land with a series of punches.
