#R1##CL2# Armando drives through and clinches with Leonard against the cage.
Leonard is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Armando is defending well. Leonard drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Armando gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Leonard keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Armando's efforts to push away.#TD2# Armando has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Leonard regains guard immediately. #SUB# Leonard is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Leonard is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Armando defends well. Armando throws a big right hand that misses. #T1# Armando throwing strikes from guard but Leonard blocks nicely. Armando connects with a couple of short punches. Armando has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Leonard keeping full guard, as Armando tries to pass. Armando controls from within his opponent's guard. It looks like Armando might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T2# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.#SU2# Leonard is working an open guard so Armando takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Armando looks to land a body kick but Leonard moved away.#TD2# Armando shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Armando showed some decent athleticism there. Armando takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.#T3# Leonard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Armando is working away from the top position though. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.#T4# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.#REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Justin Armando seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Armando throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
#CL# and Leonard counters by clinching up. #TD2# Armando ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Armando no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Leonard accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Armando is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVB# Armando uses his free foot to push down on Leonard's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Leonard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Armando sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Armando is continuing to stall. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Justin Armando dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# Leonard doesn't manage to clinch there - Armando circles away.
#TD2# Armando fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Leonard sprawls well initially but Armando persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Armando thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Leonard's head. Armando has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Leonard throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
#SUB# Leonard actively working from the bottom here. Armando tries to pass to full mount but Leonard defends it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Armando is working for a kimura but Leonard is defending it quite comfortably.
Leonard keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. #T1# Armando looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Armando not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Armando controlling the pace. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.#SUB2# Armando wants to work for an arm triangle but Leonard is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
#REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.#CL2# Armando moves into the clinch successfully.
#T2# My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Armando wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Leonard is trying to pull guard but Armando turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Leonard is trying to maintain a safe position but Armando gets an underhook and turns Leonard into the cage. Leonard tries for a takedown but Armando manages to get underhooks.
Armando working hard to break the clinch. Leonard blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Armando keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Leonard's efforts to push away.#TD2# Armando drags the fight down to the ground.
Armando doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
#ES2# Armando is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Armando has had enough of the clinch but Leonard keeps him there for the moment.#T3# Leonard putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Armando in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Leonard looking to throw knees to the head but Armando is blocking nicely.
Leonard changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Armando fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milo Leonard. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.#TD2# Armando feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Armando passes into half guard. Armando thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Armando winds up and cracks Leonard with a swinging punch to the side of the head. #T4##SU2# Armando stands up and beckons Leonard to join him on the feet. Leonard throws a wild hook but Armando just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Leonard gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Armando raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Justin Armando!
