#R1# A jab from Fernandino misses. Fernandino thuds his right hand into Hewitt's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Fernandino lands with a hook. Hewitt tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Hewitt walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Hewitt shoots for a takedown but Fernandino saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Hewitt tries for a takedown but Fernandino sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Fernandino thuds his right hand into Hewitt's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. We've been hearing reports that Hewitt has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Hewitt misses with a takedown attempt #KD2# and Fernandino counters with a nice right hand that sends Hewitt toppling to the canvas! Hewitt scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Fernandino finish him?!#ROC2# Hewitt is rocked! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Hewitt. That's going to take a lot out of him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fernandino cracks Hewitt with a left hook right on the temple and Hewitt goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Fernandino lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Hewitt is OK!

#R1# Gomi misses with a wild body shot. Hewitt steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Gomi. Gomi lands with a cross. #TD2# Hewitt closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gomi's guard. Gomi keeping moving, preventing Hewitt from controlling successfully. Hewitt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.#SUB# Gomi has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Hewitt should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gomi has tightened it up now! Hewitt should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

#R1# Gomi lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Hewitt has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Hewitt on the wrong end of a nice hook. Hewitt fails with a takedown attempt. Gomi ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. No luck with that takedown attempt from Hewitt. Hewitt closes the distance and clinches up with Gomi, looking for a takedown. Hewitt pushes Gomi against the cage but Gomi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Takanori Gomi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Hewitt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hewitt displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gomi throws out the jab. Gomi throws a body punch but Hewitt moves out of range. #TD2# Hewitt drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gomi wants to control but Hewitt is keeping busy and won't allow it. Gomi definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Hewitt lands with a punch from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hewitt slows the pace down in half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hewitt can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hewitt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gomi. Hewitt looks up at the clock and then as Gomi takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hewitt smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gomi regains half guard. Well, if Hewitt is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Hewitt wants to control the position but Gomi says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Gomi is thwarting Hewitt's attempts to control the position. Hewitt tries to get to full guard but Gomi has control of the leg. #T4# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hewitt has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gomi is working away from the top position though. Hewitt is staying active underneath Gomi, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hewitt wants to control but Gomi is keeping busy and won't allow it. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Hewitt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gomi as he jumps to the side. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gomi with a poor takedown and Hewitt cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Jason Hewitt. I think Hewitt has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Lorlek jabs Hewitt right on the nose. Hewitt blinks but takes it well. Hewitt takes a body punch but keeps moving. Hewitt darts in looking for a takedown but Lorlek gets double underhooks and turns Hewitt into the cage. Lorlek lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Hewitt fails with the takedown. Lorlek throws out a counter right but Hewitt avoids it with no problem. Lorlek scores with a jab. Hewitt acknowledges it with a nod of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#KD2# Lorlek lands a left and a right that send Hewitt crashing to the mat, dazed. Lorlek thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lorlek feints with a jab and clips Hewitt right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Hewitt is sent crashing into the canvas and Lorlek leaps in for the kill! Hewitt tries to get to his feet but Lorlek is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Hewitt is in need of a savior and steps in!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Put Lorlek! Put Lorlek decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Hogan dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Hogan landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Hewitt controlling the position well. Hewitt wants to control but Hogan is keeping busy and won't allow it. Hogan is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Hewitt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hogan pulls his head out easily. Hogan blocks the strikes from Hewitt.
