Burks misses with an elbow from the bottom. Burks is looking for a sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Foster looking to control but instead Burks has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burks is staying active underneath Foster, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Burks tries to get to full guard but Foster has control of the leg. Burks is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Foster's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Foster's back!#SUB# Foster is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Burks gets his way!

James is trying to move to mount but Burks reverses beautifully and ends up in James's guard. Burks would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Burks working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Burks lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.#SUB2# Burks got a little sloppy there for a moment and James has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Burks has managed to get both his arms back between James's legs - danger averted. James bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Burks's guard. #REVB# We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! James pushing down on Burks's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Burks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for James on the ground. James uses his free foot to push down on Burks's thigh. He'll look to pass Burks's guard now, I'm sure. Baldwin advances to half guard. Burks trying to control from the bottom.

Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Shoppe. Burks takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Shoppe lands with a cross. Burks takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Burks takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Shoppe thows a left - swing and a miss! Burks wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shoppe throws a jab when Burks was well out of range. Burks seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Shoppe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Burks. Shoppe lands with a cross. Shoppe throws a shot from downtown. Burks moves away and avoids it. Burks went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Burks takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
