The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.#CL2# Carter has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gaines is looking for a takedown.#TD2# Carter ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Carter no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Gaines throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carter works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gaines has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Carter is proving hard to escape from. #SU# Gaines stands up from guard. Let's bang! Carter feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gainess jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!#TD2# Carter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Carter sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Gaines is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Pouyan is looking to take a break and control but Gaines is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB2# Pouyan is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Son lunges at Gaines with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gaines's hand. Son throws a right and a left that Gaines avoids nicely. A head kick misses from Gaines. No luck with that takedown attempt from Gaines. The fighters circle momentarily. Son darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Son throws a head kick but Gaines moves out of range.

Gaines can't keep his opponent in guard - Gomes advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Gomes is looking to advance position but Gaines won't allow it. Gomes uses his free foot to push down on Gaines's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gaines. Gomes lands a nice shot to the head. #SUB2# Gomes looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gaines has given up his back here. Will Gomes look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Thompson looks up at the clock and then as Gaines takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Thompson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Gaines moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Gaines wants to sweep here but Randle controlling him for the moment. Randle throwing strikes but missing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gaines is trying to keep Randle in close.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Randle stops Gaines from standing up. That was a close second round but I would say that Norberto Gaines will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round! #R3##TD2# Randle shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gaines manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Gaines is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Randle dives into side control.

Gaines controls Randle momentarily but Randle frees himself. Randle keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gaines's head. Randle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gaines swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gaines manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Randle manages to get himself to full guard.

It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gaines uses from the top position. It's a sloppy attempt though and Randle jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Randle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Randle trying to control but Gaines is working from the bottom. Gaines looking to sweep here. No luck so far. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#TD2# Randle closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. And that's the end of the fight! Norberto Gaines showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gaines, winning every round. Will the judges agree? #R1# Astro fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Gaines checks it well. Astro throws a hook but Gaines avoids it easily. Gaines half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Gaines shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Astro as he avoids it easily. Gaines misses with a double jab.
Astro lands with a good body shot. Gaines shoots in for a double leg but Astro sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.#KD2# Astro sends Gaines crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Astro is motioning to the referee to let Gaines up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!#ROC2# Gaines is rocked!#CUT2# It looks like Norberto Gaines has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gaines walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Gaines limp body while Astro jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
