And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Jake Plunkett! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Sadeq closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sadeq lands in his opponent's guard. Sadeq seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Plunkett does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Sadeq wants to lay and pray for a moment but Plunkett keeps working. Sadeq is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Plunkett is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Plunkett felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Plunkett wants to improve his position but Sadeq is controlling well.
Well, if Sadeq is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

We've been hearing reports that Plunkett has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. To Be Positive paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. To Be Positive scores with a jab to the body. Plunkett takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. No luck with that takedown attempt from Plunkett. To Be Positive keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Plunkett. Plunkett pushes Marfaker against the cage but Marfaker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Marfaker lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Marfaker lands with a right hand. Marfaker is looking to slow Plunkett down with leg kicks. Marfaker dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Marfaker lands with a hook. Plunkett tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Marfaker pushes Plunkett away with a front kick. Marfaker scores with a leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Plunkett has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Marfaker. Plunkett looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Horrible takedown attempt by Plunkett or perhaps it was just good defense by Zalac, which made it look bad. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Zalac! But no joy. Zalac fails to land the takedown. Plunkett fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Zalac swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Plunkett. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Zalac can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. That was a close round but I would say that Jake Plunkett will probably get the nod. Plunkett crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Robinson - the referee stops the clock and Plunkett gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Robinson. Plunkett manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Robinson scores with a kick to the midsection. Robinson scores with a head kick. Plunkett tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Plunkett tries for a takedown but Robinson circles away easily and Robinson counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Plunkett is lucky that one didn't land flush. Robinson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Plunkett with a poor takedown and Robinson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Robinson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Plunkett.#ROC2# Plunkett is rocked! Jake Plunkett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Plunkett wants to clinch but Robinson slips to the side and Robinson counters with a crisp right that sends Plunkett to the canvas! #R1##CL# Plunkett gets tackled into the cage by McGuire. McGuire maintains the clinch. Plunkett has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McGuire is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Plunkett can't break the clinch.

Plunkett tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but McGuire presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! McGuire breaks from Plunkett's wrist control and lands an elbow. #T1# McGuire is landing with some decent strikes but Plunkett is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.#ROC# Plunkett is rocked! Plunkett takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! McGuire's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Plunkett tries to clinch up. It seemed like Ovchinnikov was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Ovchinnikov misses with an uppercut.
