It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gentil wants it to stay on the feet. Chase Fuchs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fuchs takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Gentil feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Fuchss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Gentil lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Fuchs fails with a takedown attempt. Gentil buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
An inside leg kick lands from Gentil. Gentil throws a quick inside leg kick. Gentil defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fuchs. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gentil misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fuchs shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gentil sprawls well. Gentil wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fuchs gets slowly back to his feet.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fuchs shoots for a double leg takedown but Way sprawls well. He's pushed Fuchs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Fuchs has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Way stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.#TD2# Fuchs closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Way's guard. Way will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Fuchs stands and throws Way's legs to the side, diving into side control. Way managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Fuchs.
Fuchs throwing strikes but Way manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Way wants to stand but Fuchs has his arm trapped. What's Fuchs going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. Fuchs struggling a bit here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fuchs tries to bench press Way off him but Way keeps the position. #T1# Way creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Fuchs is looking to reverse the position. Krawlee attempts a counter takedown but Fuchs avoids it well and moves away.#TD2# Fuchs shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Fuchs won't allow Krawlee to sweep him here. Fuchs lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Krawlee keeping full guard, as Fuchs tries to pass. Fuchs must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Fuchs missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Fuchs postures up and lands a big shot to Krawlee's brow. #SUB# Krawlee is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fuchs defends well. Fuchs stopping the sweep attempt from Krawlee. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Krawlee is on top in guard.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Krawlee can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Fuchs controlling the position. Fuchs can't keep his opponent in guard - Krawlee advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Fuchs is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. #SUB# Krawlee is working for a kimura but Fuchs is defending it quite comfortably.

Let's see what he can do from the top position. Hackett is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Fuchs not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Hackett working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Fuchs. Hackett looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Fuchs has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fuchs accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Fuchs is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Owens throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Fuchs on the side of the head. Owens has a takedown stuffed. Owens closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Fuchs looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Fuchs scores with a one two! Owens had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Owens shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fuchs pinned against the cage. Fuchs gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Fuchs throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Owens sees it coming and avoids it easily. Owens shoots in looking for a takedown but Fuchs manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Owens's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Fuchs went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Chase Fuchs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kolbee Owens. Owens lunges at Fuchs with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Fuchs's hand. Fuchs throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Camacho has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
