Armbar tries to close the distance and clinch but Willace swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Armbar wants to clinch up but Willace keeps it at a distance. Armbar lands with a nice combination. Willace backs away looking to recover.#CUT# It looks like Bill Willace has been cut. Armbar tries to close the distance and clinch up but Willace swats him away and circles back towards the center. A slow jab from Willace misses its intended target. Armbar uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Willace. Armbar misses with a left hand and Willace counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Armbar moves out of range as Willace strikes. Armbar doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Armbar slips a straight right by Willace. Armbar slips under a jab. Willace jabbing away but nothing is landing. Armbar clobbers Willace with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd cheers as Armbar lands an impressive looking overhand right. Willace doesn't seem phased though. Willace fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Armbar throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Willace on the side of the head. Willace comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Armbar pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Armbar tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Willace paws at him with a jab and circles away. A lazy left from Willace finds it's target. The crowd are loving this. Willace is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Armbar is breathing heavily. Willace missing with a left hand there. Armbar was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Willace throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Willace with a nice cross. Willace slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Willace fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Armbar manages to avoid it. Armbar takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Willace scores with a hook.#T4# Armbar takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Willace lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Armbar at a distance.
Armbar takes a shot right to the bread basket. Willace with a hook. Armbar tries to move into range but Willace moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Nice shot by Willace. Willace lands the left hand. A shot to the liver by Willace. Beautiful body shot. Willace listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. A jab from Willace does it's job there. Willace connects with a right hand. Armbar shakes it off. Willace lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Willace feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Armbars jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!#ROC2# Armbar is rocked! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Willace lands a nice shot that snaps Armbar's head back.
Oh Armbar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Armbar moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Armbar gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Willace steps in with a hook that catches Armbar right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Willace follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Armbar looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bill Willace! Bill Willace decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

#R1# Sloppy strikes from Armbar. Those never looked like landing. Armbar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Snyder. Snyder showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Armbar.

Andrew Armbar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Snyder tries to shoot in for a takedown. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Armbar fails to land with a series of punches.
