We've been told by Savage's head coaches at Blood and Iron Training that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Herdrich can't hide his disappointment, as Savage celebrates the victory.

A little jabbing left from Herdrich on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

and Cole cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Cole is looking for a counter combo.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cole working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Herdrich doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Herdrich manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Cole seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Herdrich paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Cole - great work!
