Escobar misses with a takedown and Makarenko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Makarenko lands a brutal head kick. Escobar looks out on his feet and Makarenko throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Cyril Makarenko! After the fight, Cyril Makarenko was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Escobar pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Steamboat Jr tumbling to the mat - Escobar dives into Steamboat Jr's guard. Escobar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Escobar postures up.
#SUB# Steamboat Jr landing heel shots to his opponent's back. Escobar not amused, grabs the leg and drops back, looking for a heel hook. Steamboat Jr doesn't react quick enough and Escobar cranks it - Steamboat Jr screams in pain and taps out! That was a really quick submission! Impressive stuff!

#R1# Volkovic doesn't manage to clinch there - Escobar circles away.
A little feinted left hand from Escobar on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Escobar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Volkovic as he avoids it easily. Volkovic wants to clinch up but Escobar keeps it at a distance.#TD# Escobar shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Escobar sitting and controlling from the half guard. Escobar really is a fat lump. Volkovic tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Escobar manages to move to mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Escobar looking to isolate an arm here. Volkovic doesn't see it coming and as Escobar extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Escobar!

Escobar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Escobar wants to control from the top but Parsons keeps moving. Parsons really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Escobar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Escobar pushing down on Parsons's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Axer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Axer tries to get out of the position.#SUB2# Escobar drops back looking for a leg! Axer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Axer manages to kick Escobar off! Escobar jumps back into Axer's guard. Axer wants to stand up but Escobar is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Escobar pushing down on Axer's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. #SUB2# Escobar has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Axer defend it? Escobar steps over the head and cranks it - Axer is tapping out! It will also be interesting to see what tactics Escobar uses from the top position. Jr keeping full guard, as Escobar tries to pass. Jr looking for a sweep. Not yet Jr, not yet.
