Nurmy takes a body punch but keeps moving. #T4# A right-left combo lands from Werthers. This has been an exciting period of action! Werthers lands a jab-cross combination. Nurmy shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Werthers works over Nurmy's head and body with a nice combination. Werthers lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Werthers scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Werthers comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Danga de danga de dang - Werthers scores with a four punch combination! Nurmy has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Halli is pushing down on Nurmy's leg trying to pass to half guard. Nurmy is fighting to maintain full guard but Halli has managed to sneak the leg through. Nurmy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Halli passes to side control. #SUB# Halli wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nurmy, who protects the arm well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Halli tries to advance to mount but Nurmy denies him. Halli is working hard here to advance position.#T1##SUB# Halli is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nurmy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. #R1# Liu connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.#CUT2# It looks like Abdul Nurmy has been cut. Liu jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Liu, right into the meat.
Nurmy takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Nurmy walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Nurmy dives in and grabs Liu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Liu pushes down on Nurmy's head and hops out. Balagot Liu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nurmy drops his hands momentarily and Liu takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Liu cracks the inside of Nurmy's front leg. Nurmy moves forwards but Liu connects with a nice, crisp jab.#CUT2# Abdul Nurmy's cut is getting worse. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nurmy tries to clinch up and Liu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.#T1# Nurmy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Liu can pounce on him.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Nurmy crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Liu - the referee stops the clock and Nurmy gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. Liu throws a nice inside leg kick. #T4# Nurmy gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Liu sizes up Nurmy with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. He thinks about going to the ground but Nurmy looks back up at him and smiles so Liu waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Liu cracks Nurmy's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Nurmy slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Liu can do further damage! This one is done, son!

Nurmy is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
#TD# Nurmy looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Jasper! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SU# Nurmy stands up. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Jasper keeps the fight on the outside.#T1# Nurmy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jasper has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Nurmy is landing a low percentage of strikes. Nurmy wants to clinch up but Jasper keeps it at a distance. Navajo tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Navajo shoots in for a double leg but Nurmy sprawls well. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Nurmy sitting in guard, not really doing much. Linwood is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nurmy advances position into side control!
