Brimley tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Vaughn avoids it. Vaughn fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Brimley throws an elbow but it misses.
Vaughn goes for a takedown in the clinch but Brimley prevents it.
Vaughn jumps guard but Brimley stands there with Vaughn around his waist. Vaughn gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scotty Vaughn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brimley putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Vaughn in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Vaughn is trying to stall.

#R1# Blah shoots in for a double leg but Vaughn sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Vaughn shoots and misses #CL2# and Blah holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Vaughn jumps guard but Blah stands there with Vaughn around his waist. Vaughn gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Vaughn wants to break free but Blah has control.
Vaughn is working for takedown but Blah is calmly controlling the position for now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scotty Vaughn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vaughn is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. #R1# Dixon throws a body punch but Vaughn moves out of range. Vaughn throws a big counter combination but Dixon scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.#TD2# Dixon drives through with a takedown into guard. Vaughn throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Vaughn avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Vaughn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dixon on the ground. Vaughn can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dixon controls the pace. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vaughn can't keep his opponent in guard - Dixon advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. #T1# Dixon lands with a punch from half guard. Dixon uses his free foot to push down on Vaughn's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Vaughn. #SUB2# Dixon has hold of Vaughn's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Vaughn manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Gardener sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Vaughn is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Vaughn is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Gardener's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Vaughn gets full guard.#SUB# Vaughn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gardener can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. #SUB# Vaughn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Franklin Gardener showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Scotty Vaughn's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! #R3# A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gardener is defended easily by Vaughn. Gardener looks to land a combination. Vaughn sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Gardener stuffs the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gardener shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Franklin Gardener seems to be getting the better of the standup. Gardener doesn't succeed with the takedown and Vaughn counters with a nice body shot. Scotty Vaughn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franklin Gardener. Vaughn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gardener as he jumps to the side. Vaughn throws a right and a left that Gardener avoids nicely. #CL2# Gardener clinches up against the cage. Vaughn is looking for a takedown. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Gardener. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Vaughn is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Gardener is keeping busy.#T2# Vaughn fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Vaughn has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gardener avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.#TD2# Gardener jumps guard and drags Vaughn to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Gardener is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Gardener managing to block the knees to the body from Vaughn.
Vaughn will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Gardener up against the cage. Vaughn stalling in the clinch but Gardener improves position. Vaughn taking a breather. Maybe Vaughn would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much. Gardener stalling the fight.
#TD# Vaughn turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!#SUB# Vaughn working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Vaughn throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Gardener works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. #T4# Vaughn throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Franklin Gardener has got the better of the ground game so far. Gardener has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vaughn is working away from the top position though. Vaughn trying to control from half guard but Gardener is working away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Vaughn misses with a head shot. Gardener uses the momentum to regain guard. Vaughn trying to control but Gardener is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Franklin Gardener comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Gardener has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. #TD# Vaughn drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.#SUB# Vaughn drops back looking for a leg! McGee is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McGee manages to kick Vaughn off! Vaughn jumps back into McGee's guard. #SU# Vaughn stands up and waves to McGee to follow him. #TD# Vaughn bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. McGee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vaughn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vaughn takes a little break here. McGee wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Vaughn misses with an attempted head punch from side control. #T1# McGee tries to bench press Vaughn off him but Vaughn keeps the position. #SU# Vaughn stands up and beckons McGee to his feet. McGee throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. McGee works over Vaughn's head and body with a nice combination. Chad McGee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#CL# The fight moves into the clinch position. Vaughn is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Vaughn has McGee pressed against the cage.
McGee is trying to maintain a safe position but Vaughn gets an underhook and turns McGee into the cage. A frustrated look appears on McGee's face as he tries to break the clinch. Vaughn keeps control of McGee as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. #T2##TD# Vaughn turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Vaughn manages to end up in side control. Vaughn working the head with strikes. McGee is looking to regain half guard here but Vaughn keeps moving and retains side control. #SU# Vaughn has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. McGee looks winded! McGee fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vaughn avoids it really well and circles away. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!#TD# Vaughn throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McGee tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vaughn is in McGee's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T3# Vaughn content to stall in guard here. Vaughn is in close to McGee's body, working some short punches and elbows.#SU# Vaughn stands up from McGee's guard - Vaughn perhaps looking for a knockout. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# McGee wants to clinch. Vaughn is looking to counter with a shot to the body. McGee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. #TD# Vaughn shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Vaughn with a nice head shot there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McGee has momentary wrist control but Vaughn slips an elbow through the middle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vaughn postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. #SU# Vaughn stands and steps away. McGee's coach down at Cozad MMA Sydney was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McGee's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Come on Vaughn - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

McGee is breathing heavily.#T1##SU# Vaughn stands up and waves to McGee to follow him. #CL# McGee gets tackled into the cage by Vaughn. Vaughn maintains the clinch. McGee tries to circle away but Vaughn has him pinned against the cage.#TD# Vaughn has clasped his hands together around McGee's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. #SUB# Vaughn wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McGee, who protects the arm well. #SUB# Vaughn is working to tighten his grip on McGee's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. McGee has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Vaughn is really squeezing tight and eventually McGee passes out! Vaughn breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
