#R1# Hocking throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Spunche counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hocking with a poor takedown #CL# and Spunche moves into the clinch. We've been informed that Hocking has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.#BC# Spunche breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. #CL# Spunche clinches up against the cage. Hocking wants to break free but Spunche has control.
Spunche lands a left hand.
Spunche lands a hook to the side of the head. Spunche lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Spunche lands a left hand that snaps the head of Hocking backwards. #ROC# Hocking is rocked! Hocking is trying to pull guard but Spunche has him pressed against the cage. Hocking is still on wobbly legs! Can Spunche finish him? Spunche gets through Hocking's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!#TD# Spunche has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hocking uses from the top position. Spunche wants to control the position but Hocking says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. #SUB2# Hocking is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
#SUB# Spunche actively working from the bottom here. Spunche tries to roll over but Hocking keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hocking tries to pass the half guard into mount. Spunche knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T1##SUB2# Hocking is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Spunche is looking for a sweep. Hocking is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Hocking seems to have recovered his senses. Spunche is looking to get back to full guard here but Hocking has managed to pass to side control instead. Spunche tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hocking tries to advance to mount but Spunche denies him. Hocking is looking to take a break and control but Spunche is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. #T2# Spunche being controlled for a moment. Spunche is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Spunche is trying to buck Hocking off. Hocking working the ground and pound. #T3# Spunche struggling a bit here. Spunche tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Hocking presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Hocking wants to control the pace but Spunche is squirming around nicely. Hocking manages to capitalize on a mistake by Spunche to take his back!#SUB2# Spunche won't enjoy being in this position. Hocking looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Spunche is tapping - it's over boys! Hocking picks up the submission victory!
