#R1##TD2# Lee gets a takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Lee has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Lee controlling the pace for now. Shaffer slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Lee is trying to control the action in half guard but Shaffer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaffer wants to control but Lee is keeping busy and won't allow it. #SUB2# Lee is trying to work for a kimura but Shaffer is defending well.
Lee is looking to take a break and control but Shaffer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. #T1# Lee throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Shaffer to regain full guard. Lee in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Lee controlling from the top position. Lee wants to control from the top but Shaffer keeps moving. Lee is looking to pass into half guard but Shaffer pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Shaffer is in guard.#REVR##SU# Shaffer gets to his feet - Lee follows without any prompting. Cobra Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#T2##TD# Shaffer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lee quickly recovers to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lee gets back to full guard.

Shaffer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Shaffer prevents Lee from getting the reversal. Lee wants to hold on but Shaffer pushes him away. Lee is desperately trying to improve his position but Shaffer has a good base and remains in mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shaffer lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lee hang on? Shaffer lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Edison Shaffer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lee works over Shaffer with some ground and pound from guard.#T1# Lee wants to get up but he can't break Shaffer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Shaffer keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully. Shaffer working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lee. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. #T2# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lee advances to half guard. Lee is just content to waste time from the top position. Shaffer takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Shaffer keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully. Lee might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Shaffer haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Lee looking to sit in guard and control but Shaffer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVR# Shaffer lands a couple of decent looking shots.#T3# Lee is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Lee is looking to sweep but instead, Shaffer has passed into half guard.
Still in half guard, Shaffer seems content to control.#SUB2# Lee with the active half guard here but Shaffer passes nicely into side control. Shaffer slows the pace down. #T4# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Lee can't do much from the bottom here. Lee takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Shaffer just content to control the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!#SU# Shaffer stands up and we're back to a striking position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Edison Shaffer will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! #R3##TD# Lee gets caught napping as Shaffer dives in and scores a takedown. Lee manages to retain guard. Lee wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Shaffer manages to pass to side control. #REVB# Lee is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Shaffer scores with a couple of nice shots. Lee trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
