Makres working for a triangle but Martin defends it easily. #SUB2#
Makres is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Martin has his hands clasped together but Makres extends and breaks Martin's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Makres.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). John Makres!
John Makres bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.

Martin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily #CL2#

Rounder has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Martin clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Martin tries to escape the position.
Rounder controlling from the back.
Rounder is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Martin wants to get back to his feet. #SUB2#
Martin is trying to defend against the choke here but Rounder has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Rounder Tightens the hold and Martin taps out furiously! Rounder displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). All Rounder Rounder!
After winning the bout, All Rounder Rounder thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Martin pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Cook back to the cage. Martin follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Cook takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Martin shoots in looking for a takedown. Cook tries to sprawl out of it but Martin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cook manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. #TD#
Cook shoots in and bounces Martin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Martin is trying to control the position but Cook postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
