Thompson shoots for a takedown but Erickson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Thompson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Thompson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Erickson's waist but Erickson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thompson off to one side.
Erickson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thompson as he avoids it easily.
Thompson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Erickson but Erickson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Thompson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Erickson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thompson avoids it really well and circles away.
Erickson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Erickson wants it to stay on the feet.
Erickson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Thompson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thompson is looking to cinch up a triangle. Erickson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Thompson's body to avoid the submission. Thompson has instead reached around Erickson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Thompson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Thompson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Fisher is trying to defend but Thompson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Thompson in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Fisher tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Thompson!
