#R1# Junior wants to clinch up but Ashter keeps it at a distance. Ashter unleashes a big counter combination but Junior bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Junior tries to land a body kick and Ashter counters with a three punch combo that has Junior backing up. Junior nods at Ashter to acknowledge the strikes. Junior moves to clinch but Ashter breaks away and Ashter counters with a thumping low kick. Ashter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Junior. Ashter is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.#CL# Junior has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ashter lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Ashter scores with a nice hook to the head. Ashter lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Junior backwards. Junior tries a knee to the head but Ashter blocks it.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Junior using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Ashter has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Ashter makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. This has been an exciting period of action! Junior is trying to break the clinch but Ashter is controlling him.#T1# Ashter lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. #R1# Junior defending well as Do Nascimento loads up on a big left hand. Junior is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Do Nascimento circles away from the clinch attempt.
As Junior tries to get set, Do Nascimento tries to push him back and clinch up but Junior manages to avoid the attempt. The fight stays on the outside here - Junior looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Adonias Junior seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Junior darts in trying to clinch#TD# and Do Nascimento counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Do Nascimento. Do Nascimento engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Do Nascimento seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Junior for as long as he can get away with. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Junior wants to sweep but no luck. #T1# Do Nascimento engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Junior has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. #R1# Polo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Junior. A quick step to the side and Polo tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Junior takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A cross from Polo lands. A shot to the liver by Polo. Beautiful body shot. Junior tries to clinch up and Polo counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Junior thinking. Polo lands with a hook. Junior tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Polo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. A shot to the liver by Polo. Beautiful body shot. Polo pounces like a tiger and cracks Junior with a vicious hook! Junior is down but not out! Polo follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
