#R1##CL2# Snizzle moves into the clinch.#TD# Carpenter has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Snizzle is trying to keep an underhook but Carpenter manages to get the takedown into half guard. Carpenter really is a fat lump. Carpenter content to control rather than advance. Snizzle pushes Carpenter off but Carpenter dives into side control.
Carpenter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Snizzle keeps working. Carpenter fails to land a wild elbow strike.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Snizzle can do anything to dispel that myth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carpenter creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Snizzle sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Snizzle tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Carpenter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.#T1# Carpenter is riding his opponent, not letting Snizzle buck him off. Snizzle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carpenter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#SUB# Carpenter is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Snizzle defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Carpenter trying to control. Snizzle is trying to stand back up. #T2# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Carpenter keeps control of the position easily here as Snizzle tries to buck him off.
#ES2# Snizzle manages to stand up with Carpenter still on his back. Eventually Carpenter drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position. Snizzle fails in his attempt to clinch. Carpenter is looking to counter the offense by Snizzle and move into the clinch. Snizzle throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Carpenter.#CUT2# It looks like Cristopher Carpenter has been cut.#T3# Snizzle throws a lazy head kick and Carpenter counters with a series of strikes. Snizzle will be more careful next time no doubt. Snizzle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carpenter pinned against the cage. Carpenter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Snizzle tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carpenter paws at him with a jab and circles away. Carpenter throws a big counter combination but Snizzle scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.#CL2# Snizzle rushes Carpenter and presses him up against the cage.#BC2# Snizzle escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

#CL2# Snizzle darts in and clinches Carpenter up against the cage.#BC# Carpenter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Carpenter throws a big shot that misses. Snizzle has his takedown stuffed and Carpenter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.#T4# A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Snizzle . It looked like Carpenter was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Cristopher Carpenter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Snizzle . Snizzle throws a sloppy head kick and Carpenter counters with a three punch combo that has Snizzle backing up. Snizzle nods at Carpenter to acknowledge the strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Snizzle leaves Carpenter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Snizzle scores with a kick to the body.
Carpenter throws a sloppy head kick and Snizzle moves out of range easily. Carpenter takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Snizzle tries a head kick but it misses.

Carpenter tries to counter with a takedown but Snizzle is quick to defend against it. Snizzle throws a head kick that misses. Carpenter throws a sloppy head kick and Snizzle moves out of range easily. Snizzle is looking for the big counter here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Cristopher Carpenter will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Cristopher Carpenter's cut. That's time! Carpenter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. #R2##CL2# Snizzle pushes Carpenter up against the cage in a clinch.#BC# Carpenter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Carpenter displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Snizzle . Carpenter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carpenter wants it to stay on the feet. Carpenter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
An attempted straight right counter from Carpenter misses the target. Carpenter tries to close the distance and clinch but Snizzle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Snizzle closes the distance but Carpenter moves to the side and Carpenter counters with a left and a right that stings Snizzle . We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carpenter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Snizzle manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Carpenter blocks a head kick by Snizzle .

#CL2# Snizzle clinches up with Carpenter and pushes him back against the cage.#TD2# Snizzle jumps guard and drags Carpenter to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. #SUB# Carpenter drops back looking for a leg! Snizzle is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Snizzle manages to kick Carpenter off! Carpenter jumps back into Snizzle 's guard. Carpenter scoring with some ground and pound. #T2# Carpenter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Carpenter distracts Snizzle with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Snizzle avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. #SUB2# Snizzle has an active guard here but Carpenter has managed to pass into half guard.
#SUB# Carpenter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
#T3# Carpenter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Snizzle keeps working. Cristopher Carpenter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.#SUB# Carpenter is looking for a kimura but Snizzle is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Carpenter to get the leverage. #T4# The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.#SU# Carpenter escapes and gets back to his feet. Carpenter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Snizzle shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Carpenter sprawls well. Carpenter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Snizzle gets slowly back to his feet. Cristopher Carpenter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Snizzle . Snizzle looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Carpenter throws a sloppy head kick and Snizzle moves out of range easily. Carpenter avoids the head kick by Snizzle .

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
