#KD2# and Escorre counters with a crisp one two that drops Stepanov! Escorre thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Stepanov to his feet! Stepanov is in big trouble! Escorre gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Escorre misses with a wild body shot. Stepanov changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Stepanov scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Escorre doesn't seem bothered though. Jab, jab by Stepanov - just one landing. Escorre throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Escorre misses with a body shot.
Stepanov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Stepanov swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
#CL2# and Escorre holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Stepanov goes for a takedown attempt but Escorre pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Stepanov tests Escorre's chin there with a solid looking shot. Claudio Escorre is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Escorre throws a body punch but Stepanov moves out of range. Stepanov getting the better of the striking in that exchange. A looping hook to the body misses from Stepanov. Escorre does a little dance to reset his feet. Stepanov throws a hook to the side of Escorre's head but Escorre sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Escorre throws a counter combo. A punch combination from Escorre misses. Stepanov finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Escorre's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Stepanov falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Khan moves into range and connects with a jab. #CUT#It looks like Konstantin Stepanov has been cut. Khan ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Khan lands a nice shot to the body.
Khan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
#KD# Khan moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Stepanov goes down! Can Khan finish him!? The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stepanov is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Khan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stepanov works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Khan is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. #ROC#Stepanov is rocked! Khan arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Stepanov's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

#TD# and Stepanov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Krieg won't be happy with that. Stepanov scoring with punches and elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stepanov cracks Krieg with an elbow. That is naaassty. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Stepanov connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Krieg some visible discomfort.
Stepanov scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Krieg to see if he's OK. This has been an exciting period of action! Zola thows a left - swing and a miss! Zola moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Zola scores with a jab to the jaw. The fighters circling - Zola throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Zola connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Stepanov misses with a hook. Zola ducked under it nicely. Zola tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Stepanov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Stepanov was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. A big left from Zola misses. Zola takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Zola is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Stepanov had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.#T4# Stepanov slips a jab from Zola. #TD2# and Stepanov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Krieg won't be happy with that. Stepanov creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Stepanov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Stepanov is working Krieg over with some ground and pound from side control. #SUB2# Stepanov is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Krieg is trying to escape and Stepanov transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Krieg is forced to tap! Nice work there by Stepanov! Very nice indeed!

Clark throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Stepanov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Clark takes a swing at Stepanov's ribcage but misses. An attempted straight right counter from Stepanov misses the target.#KD2# Clark throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Stepanov tumbling to the canvas!#CUT2#It looks like Konstantin Stepanov has been cut. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Clark is fighting to break Stepanov's control of his arms but Stepanov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Stepanov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Clark is one step ahead there. Clark controlling from the top position. We've been hearing good reports from Stepanov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. #R1# Fire ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A little jabbing left from Fire on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Stepanov swings widly with a right hand
and Fire counters with a nice uppercut. Fire steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Stepanov. Fire throws a counter combo. Fire moves out of range of the strikes. Fire only half commits to the counter leg kick. Stepanov cracks Fire with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stepanov misses with a straight right. Fire uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stepanov.
