Benedito goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Benedito throws a series of punches but Kennedy avoids them all with ease. Kennedy with the counter takedown but Benedito avoids it easily. Benedito misses with a few strikes there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kennedy scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.#TD# Kennedy tries to sprawl but Benedito drives through with a takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Kennedy regains full guard. Nicely done. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB# Benedito drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kennedy looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kennedy looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kennedy! #REVB# Kennedy tries to advance to mount but can't. Benedito gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. #SUB2# Kennedy is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Benedito has managed to free his arm - good work. #SUB2# Kennedy is looking for a kimura but Benedito is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kennedy to get the leverage. #T1# The fighters are battling for position here. Benedito manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Kennedy prevents Benedito from getting back to his feet. Benedito is trying to hold Kennedy in close to prevent damage but Kennedy has managed to pass into half guard.

The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Benedito manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Kennedy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Benedito in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Kennedy is defending well. Benedito quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Kennedy has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission!
