Cutterlittle on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. A head kick from Cutterlittle lands but Shepherd takes it in his stride. #CUT2# It looks like Freddie Shepherd has been cut. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Shepherd crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Cutterlittle - the referee stops the clock and Shepherd gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Cutterlittle. Shepherd manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Crunch! Cutterlittle slams his shin into Shepherd's torso. That kick from Cutterlittle tenderised Shepherd's leg. Shepherd is trying to keep his angry face on. Cutterlittle fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Shepherd has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.#TD# Excellent takedown into side control there by Shepherd. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shepherd misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

#R1##TD# Shepherd drives through with a takedown into guard. Sims looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Sims looking for a sweep. Not yet Sims, not yet. #SUB2# Shepherd got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sims has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shepherd has managed to get both his arms back between Sims's legs - danger averted. Shepherd looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Shepherd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Shepherd's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shepherd throwing strikes from guard but Sims blocks nicely. Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Los Angeles inform us that Sims has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Cupido stuns Shepherd with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Cupido looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Cupido misses with a double jab.
Cupido is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Shepherd throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cupido's waist but Cupido gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shepherd off to one side. Cupido swings and misses with a hook to the body.

#CUT2# It looks like Freddie Shepherd has been cut. Shepherd takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Cupido throws a series of punches but Shepherd avoids them all with ease. Cupido ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Shepherd is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here.#KD2# Cupido lands a left and a right that send Shepherd crashing to the mat, dazed. After the fight, Shawn Jr Cupido was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. He'll look to pass Shepherd's guard now, I'm sure. Shepherd is looking to stand back up but Alexander counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Shepherd. #REVR# Alexander wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shepherd keeps working. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Alexander is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Shepherd still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Shepherd has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Shepherd happy to just control the position for now. #T1# Alexander tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Alexander seems a little lost for a moment, as Shepherd dominates the positioning. You can see the frustration on Alexander's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Shepherd wants to control for a moment but Alexander uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
