#R1##TD2# Richards shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Regal napping and manages to drive through into side control! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Richards trying to control the position but Regal is working away. Regal is looking for a sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Regal is not content to let Richards control the position. Richards connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Regal some visible discomfort.
Regal is pushing Richards's head away, looking to escape. Richards manages to hold on to the position though. Richards throwing strikes but missing, from side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Richards trying to control the action but Regal is working from the bottom. Richards tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. #T1# Regal on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Richards passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Regal! Richards looking to control and managing it successfully. The referee warns Regal that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Richards cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Richards has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. #R1# Cabrera keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. As Regal tries to get set, Cabrera tries to push him back and clinch up but Regal manages to avoid the attempt. Regal lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. #TD# Cabrera bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Regal is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Regal is trying to control Cabrera's posture but Cabrera avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cabrera has control of an arm but Regal manages to advance to Cabrera's back! Regal keeps control of the position easily here as Cabrera tries to buck him off.
I really don't envy Cabrera right now.
