Mario Beasley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Beasley fails with the takedown.#TD2# McCracker fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Beasley sprawls well initially but McCracker persists and gets the takedown into half guard. McCracker working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. McCracker scores with a couple of good hammerfists. McCracker looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beasley slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.#SUB# Beasley is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McCracker defends well.#T1# McCracker connects with a couple of short punches. McCracker scoring with punches to the head and body. #TD# Beasley is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. HP can't fight it off and eventually Beasley manages to take the fight to the floor. HP looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.#ES2# HP uses the cage to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD# Beasley dives in and scores a takedown into HP's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Beasley missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. #SUB# Beasley thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. #T1##ES2# HP scrambles and gets back to his feet.
#TD# Beasley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. HP throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. HP looking for a sweep. Not yet HP, not yet. Beasley postures up.

It's a bit of a token attempt though and HP regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Beasley tries to pull guard but Daniel holds him up against the cage and eventually Beasley drops back down to his feet.
