We've been told by Iron's head coaches at Blood & Sand that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Nice takedown defense from Iron. No joy for Majere on that attempt. Iron throws a body shot but no joy. Iron bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Majere throws a leg kick but Iron moved away. Majere throws a body kick that misses letting Iron counter with a right hand. Iron blocks a leg kick. Majere lands a leg kick that knocks Iron off balance momentarily. A low kick from Majere misses and Iron counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Majere pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Majere throws out a leg kick but Iron moves out of range and Majere only half commits. A head kick by Majere misses and Iron makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Majere shoots in for a takedown but Iron shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Iron throws a body shot but no joy. A cross from Iron lands. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Majere misses with a leg kick and Majere takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A slapping leg kick lands for Majere.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Majere throws a leg kick but Iron sees it coming and checks it nicely. Majere avoids the body shot from Iron.

He's got his arms around Iron's waist but Iron gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Majere off to one side. Nelson Iron has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raistlin Majere. Majere throws a leg kick that misses. As Majere tries to get set, Iron tries to push him back and clinch up but Majere manages to avoid the attempt. Good anticipation by Iron. Majere tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Iron just stands there and leans against the cage.#BC# Iron breaks the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!#TD2# Majere shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Majere throwing shots but Iron is blocking nicely. Majere has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.#ES# Iron pushes Majere off and gets back to his feet. Majere fails with a takedown attempt. #T3# Majere attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Iron tries to counter by clinching up but Majere breaks away and moves out of range. Iron with a body punch. A glancing blow. Iron shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Majere eats them both and turns towards Iron to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.#CUT# It looks like Raistlin Majere has been cut. Majere throws a sloppy head kick and Iron moves out of range easily. Majere uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Iron.
Iron defending well as Majere loads up on a big left hand. Horrible takedown attempt by Majere or perhaps it was just good defense by Iron, which made it look bad. A nice leg kick lands there from Iron. Majere scores with a push kick. No luck for Majere with that takedown attempt. #T4##TD2# Majere is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Iron's half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Iron is trying to get back to full guard. Majere takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Iron is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. #SUB2# Majere seems to be working for a kimura but Iron defends the submission attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nelson Iron dominated that round. The cut man is working on Raistlin Majere's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. #R2# Majere connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. A low kick from Majere misses and Iron counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. A chopping leg kick lands by Majere. Nice takedown defense from Iron. No joy for Majere on that attempt. Majere shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Iron pinned against the cage. Iron gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A little feinted left hand from Iron on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Majere throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A jab from Majere misses. Majere throws a nice looking combination but Iron bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A counter left hand to the body from Iron misses its target. Majere throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Majere will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Majere's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Iron connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Majere scrambles back to his feet. Majere on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Majere doesn't succeed with the takedown and Iron counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Majere gets off balance looking for a body kick enabling Iron to counter with a crisp jab. Majere moves out of range of the body kick. Majere feints the counter takedown. Majere tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Iron is able to avoid easily. Majere shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Iron sprawls well. Iron wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Majere gets slowly back to his feet. Majere with a poor takedown letting Iron counter with a right hand. Majere takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Iron swinging wildly here.

Is there anything that Majere can do to turn this around? Iron chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Majere can pounce on him.
Raistlin Majere is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.#TD2# Majere shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Iron makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Iron. Iron wants to get back to his feet but Majere is in a dominant position and won't allow it. #T4# Majere's corner is telling him to maintain position. Iron keeping moving, preventing Majere from controlling successfully. Majere pushing down on Iron's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Iron is looking to improve his position.
Majere has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Majere has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Iron's face.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nelson Iron will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Raistlin Majere's cut. The referee calls time. #R1# Iron lands with a nice combination. Ivanov backs away looking to recover.#CUT2# It looks like Ivan Ivanov has been cut. Iron connects with a looping right hand.
Ivanov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Ivanov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Iron. Iron lands a body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ivanov is defended easily by Iron. Nelson Iron seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ivanov takes one to the side of the head.

#TD# and Ivanov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ivanov content to stall in guard here. Iron is looking to sweep but instead, Ivanov has passed into half guard.
Iron really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ivanov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Iron wants to get back to full guard but Ivanov has mounted him! Ivanov has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Iron's face.
Iron manages to regain half guard. Good work. #T1# Ivanov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. We've been hearing that Ivanov has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Iron throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Ivanov manages to pass to side control. Ivanov in side control lands a decent elbow. Iron tries to buck Ivanov off but Ivanov is having none of it. Ivanov controls the position. Iron is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Ivanov looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Iron told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Ivanov trying to control from half guard but Iron is working away. Ivanov is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Ivanov working over Iron with some ground and pound. Iron looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T2# Ivanov is taking a breather. Iron says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Ivanov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Nice strikes from Ivanov there. Iron is in trouble now - Ivanov has advanced to mount! Iron is desperately trying to improve his position but Ivanov has a good base and remains in mount.#SUB# Ivanov looking to secure an arm triangle but Iron defends it well. Iron keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Iron keeps the fight on the outside. Iron swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. We've been told by Iron's head coaches at Blood & Sand that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. A slapping leg kick lands for Iron.
Iron digs a good hook to Jang's body.
Jang walks into a straight right hand from Iron. Iron lands a two punch combo.
Jang tries to clinch up but Iron circles away and keeps his distance. Jang takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jang pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Iron drops Jang with a naaaaasty hook - Jang is in real trouble here! Iron dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nelson Iron! A relieved looking Nelson Iron thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

#R1# Iron is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Iron scores with a decent looking hook. Iron dips to his left and cracks Monkoltham with an uppercut! Nice defenses there by Iron. Iron uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Monkoltham tries to bum rush Iron with a series of wild strikes but Iron uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Iron bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Monkoltham throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Monkoltham gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Monkoltham takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Iron lands an overhand right. Monkoltham moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Iron lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Iron is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Monkoltham had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Iron slips a jab and a cross from Monkoltham.

Oh Monkoltham is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!#T1# Iron misses with a low kick as Monkoltham jumps back. Iron lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Monkoltham throws a big shot that misses. Monkoltham seems to have got his legs back now. Iron closes the distance and lands a one-two. Iron stuns Monkoltham with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Monkoltham looks to land a combination but Iron avoids it well. Monkoltham misses with a few strikes there.
A lazy left from Monkoltham finds it's target. A punch lands to the side of Monkoltham 's head but he takes it in his stride. Iron paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.#CUT2# It looks like Pongsak Monkoltham has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Iron pounces like a tiger and cracks Monkoltham with a vicious hook! Monkoltham is down but not out! Iron follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
