#R1# A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Viole.#TD# Bray shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Bray is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Viole looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bray is one step ahead there. Bray engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bray is working Viole over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. #T1# Bray's corner is telling him to maintain position.#SUB# Bray drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bray jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Viole keeping full guard, as Bray tries to pass. #SUB# Bray drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Viole manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bray has Viole in his guard.#REVB# There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bray is on top in guard.
#REVR# Viole is trying to keep Bray in close.
#T2# Bray controls from within his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SU# Bray decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Viole, up you get! #TD# Bray gets the takedown into side control. Bray landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Bray throwing shots but missing, from side control. Bray cracks Viole with a big right hand but Viole just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Viole parries the strikes from Bray easily there. Bray is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Viole to escape.
The referee asks Bray politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bray prefers to stall for the moment though.#T3##SUB# Bray is working to tighten his grip on Viole's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Viole has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Bray is really squeezing tight and eventually Viole passes out! Bray breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Alfie Bray!
