Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Matvey Pavlov (ranked 747 p4p, 40 weight class) and Cameron Joyce (ranked 4658 p4p, 210 weight class). Pavlov comes into the arena with Prokofiev - Dance of the Knights blaring out of the sound system. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 8 losses; Matvey Pavlov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Cameron Joyce! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Pavlov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Joyce quickly recovers to half guard. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. That is not cool. Joyce tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pavlov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Pavlov is staying tight to Joyce's torso, preventing him from escaping. Pavlov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Joyce knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Joyce tries to improve position but can't.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Joyce trying to remain calm as Pavlov controls from the top position. Pavlov is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Joyce has escaped the position, nice work there. Pavlov taking a breather here. Pavlov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Joyce, who protects the arm well.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Pavlov is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Joyce will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Pavlov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Joyce is looking for a sweep. Pavlov tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Pavlov in side control, just content to control the action for now. Joyce is controlling an arm, preventing Pavlov from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

That's ten minutes gone in the round. Joyce regains half guard. Joyce looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Pavlov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Pavlov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Joyce is just riding it out for now. Pavlov eventually gives up the hold. Well, if Pavlov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Pavlov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Joyce looking for submissions off his back.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Pavlov is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Joyce defends it well. Still in half guard, Pavlov seems content to control. This is a sustained period of stalling by Pavlov. Joyce is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Pavlov seems to be looking for submissions.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Pavlov passes to side control. He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Joyce has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Joyce! Cameron Joyce is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Cameron Joyce! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Marilson Coutinho! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Joyce tries for a takedown but Coutinho sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Joyce shoots for a double leg takedown but Coutinho sprawls well. He's pushed Joyce's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Coutinho changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Coutinho defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Joyce. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cameron Joyce. That's going to take a lot out of him. Coutinho pushes Joyce up against the cage in a clinch. Coutinho ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Coutinho no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Joyce got a little sloppy there for a moment and Coutinho has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Joyce has managed to get both his arms back between Coutinho's legs - danger averted. Joyce trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Coutinho manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Joyce (0) vs (2) Coutinho Coutinho drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Coutinho seems to have locked his on tight now - Joyce screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Coutinho, as he picks up the win!

Joyce is in Kotrc's guard.#SUB2# Joyce drops back looking for a leg! Kotrc is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kotrc manages to kick Joyce off! Joyce jumps back into Kotrc's guard. Joyce trying to control but Kotrc is working from the bottom. Joyce slips nicely into half guard. Kotrc is trying to stand back up but Joyce is controlling him

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Joyce wants to pass the guard but Kotrc is defending well. He's simply no match for Joyce on the ground.
